Cancer Detection Using Thermography
Summary
The number of cases related to breast cancer is on the rise across the world and hence early detection can prove to be very useful. Mammography has always been used for detecting breast cancer. A new technique called thermography is used to screen women for breast cancer. In this technique, the patient has to hold up her arms and the technician then takes infrared photos. Then, halfway through the patient puts her hands in cold water for 60 seconds and again photos are clicked. The photos are looked for increased blood flow where cancer cells may be growing. This method is FDA approved and leads to very early detection.
