Summary
Right from the time when H.G Wells' classic novel Time Machine was first published in 1895, the popular imagination has long been enthralled by the prospect of time travel. The concept of a time machine can be understood with the idea of rotating space. The rotating space provides the stimulus that is needed for an object to break the light speed barrier without violating the laws of physics. In the rotating space, you can travel at speeds up to the speed of light. But for an onlooker outside this space, you are actually travelling at a speed greater than that of light. You may actually disappear to them. The first time machine experiment attempts to use a high power circulating light beam to twist space and close time to a loop. Time travel will be possible only till when the machine was last activated. The possibilities are many as envisaged by the scientists but as of now, only time will tell about the success of the time machine.
